Nightly News, the CDC and Those that have NO CLUE what "Chronic Pain" and trying to Live is all about!

As I said on my other post, I was so mad at the Nightly News with Lester Holt last night I could have screamed! They only tell a "piece" of the story, NOT the stories of us who would not be able to have a "life" or any quality of life if we were not able to have physicians help us take our pain down to where we can "stand it"... For ONE NO medication "takes all of the pain away".... but it does give us a place where we can "live" with it. It makes it bearable, most days. And for them to sit there and speak like this is something that is just a "surgery" issue etc...without even mentioning how many of us would not be able to take care of our families, work, do anything at our homes, nothing... we would only be able to sit, lay, or try and "live" with severe pain, that is what I call intractable and unbearable! without my great physicians and my medications, and that is not just pain medications, but my RA meds, my heart medications, Lupus medications, and so forth, I would have no life, I would never be able to take care of me, and certainly not be able to somewhat help my Mom... and try and do advocacy work, and write... my life would NOT be life but living hell! I am seriously thinking about writing the Nightly News and telling them how I felt about their "one sided" view of this situation.... and I have to wonder "whom is lining" whose pockets, when it comes to the CDC, Congress and all of these people that have NO CLUE what it is like to have a disease that brings on such an amount of horrid pain daily... they would think differently if it were them or one of their loved ones...

UPDATE - On New Pain Pump Surgery and what is to come....

NEW PAIN PUMP IN AND WILL POST MORE LATER....

A quick post to let everyone know I am home, actually got home by about 11:15AM or so, and how I am doing. I know some friends and family maybe concerned, and I am kind of "out of it" so I wanted to post here so everyone knows I am doing good.... I am so thrilled that a dear friend of mine, who was pregnant with her daughter the same time I was with mine, took me and brought me home. She has has several back surgeries herself, so she knows all too well, about all of this.... I am very thankful that she did that for me.... :)




I am actually home already and all went fine. They had a bit of a mix-up not having the medication there at the outpatient center that he fills the pump with. But, my old pump had quite a bit in it, at least until I see him on the 7th. The did NOT turn up the pain meds in the pump like I thought they would, and that is probably for one due to the correct medications to refill it completely, and then I think he wanted to see how I do for now. I still have more oral med I can take if I need them, and I already knew I came home after a 30 mile ride back, had to take one of them... but they had me in and out so quickly again I am still feeling the anesthesia medications in me... so they are keeping me on the sofa at least today to see how all goes... and to get some rest like I know they wanted me to... so I am not staying on here, just wanted to post quickly to let you know and some of my family and so forth I am home safe and sound... and all seems to have went well...

WOW!!!! Talk about OVERWHELMING!!!!!

I wanted to reach out to all of you that come and read on my blog. I realize that I was not getting it "out there" like I needed to.


Then between becoming a voice, advocate, an Ambassador, A Platinum Ambassador, Activist, and volunteer, I began to be able to have a better audience.

That is just totally mind boggling!!!


I am in support of a great deal of Organizations who are moving forward to make life different in good ways for so many chronically ill, chronic pain patients, autoimmune illnesses, arthritic illnesses... and I know being a "part" of those has helped me "round my field" of my "audience"....

I feel I should shout out to a few, but I hope I don't leave anyone out...
