Wishing You and Yours A Happy, Safe, and Remembering Thought As We Celebrate Our Freedom

First of All, with the "meanness, evil, and lack of caring for all of mankind that seems to be going on in every nation of the world, I can again HOPE for PEACE!

I have never understood and never shall understand anyone taking lives, as well as their own lives in the name of some religious figure. The "Lord" I know would not want me blowing myself, nor anyone up in His Name. He would not want me being mean, or doing evil things to others, or causing harm.

We are taught to "be kind to others". We are taught to be PROUD of our Nation, and of course during times of injustice, we must "fight" to keep our Nation Free and Proud. Yet, we don't strap bombs on us, and blow up planes, or buildings, or cars, or try to enihlate that human race.

I cannot fathom that type of brainwashing, of children as soon as they are able to remotely even think, no way, no how have I been taught, nor understand that concept of reasoning.

So, as we Celebrate Our Great Nations' Birthday, and Allow Freedom to Continue to be Free, I bid you Hope, Peace, Being Safe whether traveling, and having a great time with friends and family.

I cherish the fact that I can get in my car, and drive through my town, and not feel "threatened" that someone could try and harm me. I am grateful I've been able to raise my kids where they are free to do what they choose to make this nation even stronger, and someday, their children grow to adults to see our Nation Thrive, and win the war against Evil, Wrongdoing, and those who want to Harm us.

So, reflect this weekend on those points... I know this is a huge celebration weekend each year in our country... kind of our "right of passage" to begin Summer, and enjoy all that we have and our Freedoms!

May you have a Peace filled and Safe Holiday Weekend with friends and family!

In Remembrance, Reflection, Pride, and & Celebration. May YOUR July 4th Holiday be all you want it to be...

Have a Happy, Safe, and Wonderful July 4th Holiday Weekend!

I want to wish everyone a very SAFE, HAPPY, and reflective July 4th Holiday weekend! As I watched what the news had to say yesterday evening, it was pure shame I felt (even though I am not one of ""them") that our Grand Nation, has have to endure such horrific hate crimes, terrorist acts, and again "credible" threats enough to warrant each and every "celebration" especially in our huge cities, like Washington DC, New York, LA, and more to either have so many "patrols" out, or some have even cancelled their events due to the fact they feel it is NOT safe enough to even have a beautiful celebration of our Country, the USA! That also makes me mad, sad, and also even a bit fearful. Our small town has a "celebration" planned for tomorrow. We have now had a "Farmer's Market" that opens every Saturday to local growers, who come and sell their fruits, fresh veggies, and so forth. So, our town also is including some out of town vendors, even a small concert, and then a fireworks extravaganza* in the evening,, as well as one out of the Texas Motorplex, that they have been putting on for years for the holiday. Yet, even here, just because we are a "small town"... you NEVER KNOW... who could be a "lone wolf".... we have had our share of close calls in our country and the surrounding ones, and we don't live but about 35 miles from Dallas. So, we want to put aside our "fear" and think, "Oh, this would never happen here, not in our small community"... alas, sad but true, it only takes ONE person to create a horrific scene even in a small town.

So as we ready ourselves for cookouts, family gatherings, going to other celebrations, the lake, camping, and all of the many activities going on throughout our nation, be "viligant", watchful, and don't be afraid to "report" something you feel is "not right".... those types of "mindfulness" is what keeps us safe, happy, and being able to celebrate with family and friends...

I bid you ALL A Wonderful 4th of July Holiday Weekend... whether traveling, or at home cooking, wherever you are, be safe, be happy, we do still have much to celebrate and in so many ways... and Enjoy your Holiday! Hugs to All, Rhia Steele

Happy Father Day To all of the Fathers, Grandfather, Father to be, and those men that have been like a "Father" to some...

Wishing All a very Happy and Beautiful Father's Day!

While I have this on my mind, and before I decide to probably run over and visit Mom, I thought I would say "Happy Father's Day" to ALL of the Dad's out there!!!!! My Dad passed away 10 years ago this past March 27th. Even though it has been 10 years, I still miss him almost everyday of my life. I find myself at times wondering how he would "do something" I may be working on, or when I am tending to my plants and lawn, how beautiful his lawn, garden, flowers and all used to be. I have all kinds of great memories, from "running over him" when I was 6 with my brand new bike. I begged for him to take the training wheels off and he finally did. He was working on some quail pens in the garage, he used to raise them, and I forgot the "brakes"... LOL... I ran right into the garage, over the pens, Dad and all... when I recall it now, it is just too funny... he was a man of many talents, from singing, to loving the outdoors, his lawn, a garden, he made home made jelly, he loved to hunt and fish... and I was just a bit of a tomboy back then, so just about anywhere he went, I wanted to be right there beside him.. I think many things I've learned from gardening and plants, to wanting people to just tell the truth, and he was the same, he would rather hear the truth no matter how badly it maybe, than to lie to him... He was "Overprotective" of me, but I came along many years after my half-brother... who went into the Air Force when I was about 5 or so, and spent 20 years all over the world until he retired. So, I was like an "only child" and a girl also. He like everyone was not perfect. But, I loved him and still do no matter how perfect or imperfect times were. He taught me the love of "people"... he enjoyed being around people, and always had the utmost respect, and I feel he was always well liked around our community. So, in honor of my own Dad, Minnis, and to ALL Dad's here and those who are now not on this Earth... I wish all a wonderful Father's Day!!! Enjoy your family, kids, spouse, friends... time flies by too fast.... Rhia Steele
